The United States Catholic Conference of Bishops have asked that we continue to keep the pressure on your U.S. Senators and U. S. Representative to follow the House’s lead on removing abortion funding and including the protection of conscience rights for medical professionals to the compromise bill. To contact your U. S. Senators call Senator George Lemieux at 202-224-3041 or e-mail him at info@lemiux-senate.gov. Senator Bill Nelson at 202-224-5274 or e-mail him at www.senate.gov and for your representative www.house.gov.
St. Augustine March For Life
The fourth annual March For Life in St. Augustine is now a memory. We want to thank all those who attended, even though the weather was a challenge we had sunshine in our hearts as we marched through the Spanish Quarter. When the final totals came in there were over 1000 marchers.
40 DAYS FOR LIFE PRAYER CAMPAIGN
The fall campaign was a huge success with 678 babies saved throughout our nation and 5 abortion mills closed. Three of those closed abortion mills were in Florida because of you and your faithful stand for life. The Lenten campaign is being formed. The dates are 2/17/10 (Ash Wednesday) thru 3/28/10 (Palm Sunday). If you want to participate call your Diocesan Respect Life Director to find out if there is one in your area. A list of the Directors can be found in the Florida State Council web-site in the Pro-Life information section. The campaign consists of prayer (we must all do this), fasting and vigils at the abortion mills. With the tremendous threat against the pre-born each knight and their families should commit to something for the success of the 40 Days For Life Prayer Campaign.
CATHOLIC DAYS AT THE CAPITOL
Catholic Days at the Capitol will be held this year on Tuesday and Wednesday, 3/09 & 3/10/10 in Tallahassee. These days are hosted by the Florida Catholic Conference. This is a chance for you to voice your Pro-Life opinions to your local Florida legislators. It is critical for Pro-Life people to be there at this time to convince our legislators to vote for Pro-Life bills. If you are interested in attending and want more information contact your Diocesan Respect Life Director. A list of the Directors can be found on the Florida State Council web-site in the Pro-Life information section.
