Bishops Launch Website for Third Edition of the Roman Missal

The United State Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) have launched a new website in preparation for the new and Third Version of the English translation of the Roman Missal.  The new translation is awaiting final approval of the translated text later this year, after which it will be sent to the Vatican for final approval.  Beginning in 2003 the Bishops have been working to study, reflect and adjust the text so that the material and meaning is made more accessible.

Bishop Arthur Serratelli, who chairs the bishops’ Committee on Divine Worship, welcomes all visitors to the new website and explains all the material available on the website, including: frequently asked questions (FAQ), various resources, examples of the changes proposed both for the assembly and the celebrants, and much more.

Bishop Arthur Serratelli, concludes his introduction by saying "We have a great opportunity during this period not only to learn about the changes, not only to learn about the revised texts, but also to deepen our own understanding of the Liturgy itself," he goes on to say. "We encourage priests, deacons, religious, liturgical ministers, all the faithful to avail themselves of the information that we are making available."

The website can be found at the following link: http://www.usccb.org/romanmissal/
